Sidney Lorraine (Lewis) Potter

Sidney Lorraine Potter, 74, of Beaufort, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at her home.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 am Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Harkers Island with Bishop Kevin Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Morehead City ward and formerly Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Harkers Island ward.
She loved working with children in Head Start Program in Beaufort as a foster grandparent.
She is survived by her son, Robert Jonathan Potter, Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY; caregiver and companion of 23 years James Baxley of Beaufort; step-daughter, Crystal Derosia of Cape Carteret; two granddaughters, Brittney and Courtney Derosia;brother, Don Lewis of Newport; sister, Allie Gillikin of Harkers Island: also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Sabra Nelson Lewis, husband Robert Jonathan Potter, sister, Melva Gillikin and brother, Marshall Lewis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
