Sibyl Gray (Hunnings) Lewis

December 22, 1923 — July 11, 2012

Sibyl Gray H. Lewis, 88 years old, was born on December 22, 1923 to Walter and Hannah Hunnings.

Sibyl was one of four children. She was married to her sweetheart Roy Lewis for 69 1/2 years until she passed away. She was a truly devoted wife,Christian, and home maker. She taught young adult Sunday School for 14 years, served as Vice President of the womens ministry, was elected as
deaconess and served until her vision waned, and sang in the church choir.
She always use to say that “she loved every minute of it”. She was loved and adored by all. She gave generously to family, friends, or whomever was in need. She was the “glue” to our family, and will be missed dearly by all. She will be remembered mostly for her unconditional love and support of family.

She is survived by her husband Roy C. Lewis Senior, son Roy C. Lewis Junior, his wife Phyllis, daughter Cheryl L.Lewis, granddaughters: Laura Hendricks, Jeanne Young, Jessica DeBerardinis, Ellie DeLuca, grandson Matthew Lewis, great grandchildren: Shayn Lewis, Cory Godsey, Joshua Godsey, Ariel Hendricks, Darien Hendricks, great great grandson: Tony
Godsey.

She was preceded in death by her brother Edward E. Hunnings, father Walter Hunnings, mother Hannah Hunnings, sister Lucille Hatfield, brother Henry Hunnings.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to all of you for your prayers, support, and love.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
