Shurl W. "Wally" Macklin, 52, of Morehead City, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Carteret General Hospital.
A private service was held.
A good man, a hard-working Christian, Wally was by trade a carpenter, like his Lord.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Macklin of Pennsylvania; mother, Audrey L. Mackiln of Morehead City; sister, Pamela Hanson and husband Larry of Morehead City; two brothers, Ray Macklin of Newport and Andy Macklin and wife Ann of Newport; two nieces, Capt. Erika Hanson of Arlington, VA and Lt. Aubry Hanson and husband Scott of San Antonio, TX; two nephews, Brandon Macklin and wife Stacey and Josh Macklin and wife Donna all of Newport; also three great-nephews and one great-niece.
In lieuf of flowers, memorials may be made to Carteret General Hospital Cancer Center, 3500 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to Crystal Coast Hospice House, PO Box 483, Morehead City, NC 28557.
