Shirley "Pat" Springle Russell

Shirley “Pat” Springle Russell, 83, of Beaufort, passed away Thursday, October 11­, 2018, at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Bishop Kevin Nelson. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Pat was born and raised in Russell’s Creek, later she lived on Pivers Island then retired to South River. She was an active volunteer with the East Carteret High School Band and was a member of the Carteret County Shrinettes. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandkids. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt that will be truly missed.

She is survived by her son, Jack S. “Jay” Russell, Jr. and wife, Juanita, of  Otway; Michael P. Russell of Newport; brother, Leslie “L.D.” Davis Springle and wife, Barbara, of Beaufort; sister-in-law, Ina Willis of Stacy; grandchildren, Jack S. “Trey” Russell, III of Otway, Jayme Lee Russell of Otway, Michael C. “Tristen” Russell of Greenville and Lauren Faith Russell of Greenville; along with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Jack S. Russell.; parents, Leslie and Blanche Springle; sisters, Mildred Sewell, Lucille Pake, Jean Williams; and brother, Bryan Springle.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home.
