Shirley Springle, 71, of Beaufort, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Nelson Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Springle was a member of Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a retiree of the Carteret County School System.
She is survived by her husband, John Springle of Beaufort; daughter, Georgia "Sissy" Lewis of Beaufort; son, Dennis Lee Willis of Newport; her mother Maddie Gillikin of Beaufort: two grandsons, Kristopher Ryan Lewis and Luke Austin Lewis; three sisters, Kathy Longest of Beaufort, Kay Liles of Garner and Tammy Springle of Beaufort.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Lee Nelson, father, Raymond Gillikin, and brother, Raymond Gillikin, Jr..
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at the church.
