Shirley "Shady" Salter Willis
October 7, 1935 — April 8, 2016
Shirley “Shady” Salter Willis, 81, of Salter Path, passed away Friday April 8, 2016 at Oak Forest nursing home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 Monday, April 11, 2016 at Salter Path United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Bratton and Rev. James Chadwick presiding. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mrs. Willis loved her Lord and served her church, Salter Path United Methodist, all her life where she was both a choir member and Sunday school teacher. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all the loves of her life.
She is survived by her two sons, Bill Salter and wife Carolyn of Winston Salem and Dwayne Salter and wife Esther of Morehead City; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Myrna Willis and Margie Cauley both of Salter Path.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Victor Salter; parents, Leon and Rebecca Willis; and sisters, Marie Frost and Elouise Sutton.
The family will welcome friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Salter Path United Methodist Church.
