Shirley Ann Huegele McNeil

Shirley Ann Huegele McNeil, 80, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Shirley was born on November 5, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Allen and Edna Huegele. Her love of travel and sightseeing made her an excellent travel agent where she worked at USAA. Antique shopping and going wine tasting were among her favorite pastimes. Shirley was a devoted Catholic who worshipped at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was the joy of her life.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William McNeil of the home; daughter, Kelly-Marie McNeil of New Bern; son, Steve McNeil and girlfriend Miranda Henderson of New Bern; grandchildren, Riley McNeil and Major McDonald; and nieces and nephews, Michael McNeil, Kathy Bauer and Elizabeth McGenis.
