Sherry O'Neal

Sherry O'Neal, 57, of Broad Creek, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Broad Creek United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Ben Ball.

A graduate of West Carteret High School, she spent her entire life active within the Broad Creek Community and the United Methodist Church where she was the music coordinator, a singer in the group One Way, and responsible for 'rocking the rafters in church on Sunday mornings' with the clavichord. She thoroughly loved her work at Cherry Point MCAS and her co-workers.  But most of all she loved her family, and her grandnieces and grandnephew.

She was a fighter, a 'never quitter', and the purest, loving heart ever imagined.  She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her mother, Ethelene O'Neal; sister Debra Ortiz; nephew, Patrick Ortiz and wife, Beverly; nephew, Michael Ortiz and wife, Asia; grandnieces and grandnephew, McKayla, Maviell, Adelena, Zoe, Abriana, and Finley Belle; paternal aunt, Mary Ellen Dillard; cousins, Reid, Dwain, Kyle, Rhonda and Karen; and her best bud - Josie Mullins and family.

She is preceded in death by her father, William F O'Neal and sister, Brenda K O'Neal.

Flowers are fine, however the family prefers that donations be made in her memory, to her first love - United Methodist Church - Music Department, 562 Broad Creek Loop Road, Newport NC 28570.
