Sherry Ann D'Amico, 70, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Sherry’s family will celebrate her life privately.

Sherry was born on August 24, 1954, in Quantico, Virginia, to the late Carlton and Gladys Rowe. She touched the lives of many with her creative spirit and loving nature.

Sherry was a talented writer and poet, often sharing her heart through her words and the melodies she held dear. Her passion for music was evident, as she delighted in singing her favorite tunes whenever the opportunity arose.

With a deep appreciation for nature, Sherry cherished her time spent at the beach, where she found solace in the sun and the gentle sounds of the ocean. She had a profound affection for animals, considering her pets to be cherished members of her family. Her love for her pets was a significant part of her life, including her dogs, cats, and even two horses.

An adventurous soul, Sherry embraced the thrill of riding motorcycles and took great pride in her Harley Davidson. Her competitive spirit was evident during games of pool and her favorite pastime, Mahjong.

Known for her culinary skills, Sherry was a gifted cook, creating special meals that brought joy to her family, including chicken and pastry, green bean casserole, and shepherd's pie.

Sherry will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth and compassion will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Mark D’Amico; daughters, Heather D’Amico (Marlene) of Vail, AZ and Amber Stroud of Havelock; sons, Albert Rowe of Kuwait and Tommy Stroud (Amy) of Havelock; brothers, Mark Rowe of Greenville and Michael Rowe of Newport; 7 wonderful grandchildren; many loving cousins; close friend and caretaker, Roy Musser; best friend, Margaret Madigan; and her furry companions, her dogs, Lucy and Dani.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Fulcher.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA with the pets and animals of Western North Carolina in mind.
