Sheldon Dawson Russell, 67, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at Living Waters Church of God of Prophecy in Newport with Rev. Lawrence Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Family Cemetery.
Sheldon was the pastor at Maribel Church of God Prophecy in Pamilco County.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Russell of the home; daughters Susan Louise Ray and husband Christopher of Swansboro, Tracie Carol Howell and husband Benny of LaGrange, Lori Lorraine Holland of Matthews, Melissa Lynn Jones and husband Raymond of Statesville, and Shana Grey Verbois and husband Craig of Hurbert; brothers Keith Russell of Greensboro, William "Billy" Russell of Casar, Michael Joe Russell of Sanford, and Calvin Grant Russell of Bogue; a sister Carolyn Jean Russell of Bogue; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Dawson Russell and Mary Louise Russell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
