Sharon Joyce Garner, 61, of Newport, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday, January 5, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Morris.
Sharon graduated from West Carteret High School, and Wesleyan College of North Carolina. She served as assistant County Manager of Carteret County, and town manager of several other municipalities. Her last employement was town manager of the town of Franklin, NC.
She is survived by a brother Terry Garner and wife Marilyn of Laurinburg, NC; a nephew Brandon Guy Garner of Holden Beach, NC; and a niece Kipling Leigh Harris of Holly Springs, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents Randolph and Ida Garner.
Visitation will follow the service.
