Sharon Eileen Ford

Sharon Eileen Ford, 53, of Newport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 30, 2018.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date, to be announced.

A “Jersey Girl” at heart, she loved the warm welcome and open arms that the people of North Carolina gave her when she first arrived here 15 years ago.  She enjoyed the beaches, mountains and the easy-going atmosphere that the area has given her.

Sharon enjoyed a simple life and lived and loved out of a big heart. She was an avid sports fan and loved them Giants and Yankees but also quickly became a fan of our Hurricanes and Panthers!

The latest love of her life was her dog, Harry, whom she rescued and adopted. Sharon made the best of life and appreciated every moment and every person. Her friend Tex, was also a very big of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Dyczewski and husband, Dennis, of Morehead City and Mary Ellen McCourt of Newport; along with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Lois Ford and brother, Mark Ford.
