Selma Hill, 68, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 22 ,2015 at Ameriah Garner Cemetery with Jerry Linebarger officiating.
Selma was a loving wife, office manager and secretary for thirty-one years. She enjoyed making music together with her husband and sharing that passion at rest homes and sending CD's to the Troops overseas. Wife, best friend, caring mother and "Granny Sam".
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty- one years William "Billy" Hill of the home; one son, Danny Hill and wife Regina of Newport; four daughters, Debbie Green and husband David of Newport, Patti House of Newport, "Sue Sue" Healey and husband John of Newport, and Jackie "Baby Jack" Carlson and husband David of Lincolnton, NC; two brothers, Ross Morris of Concord, NC, Phil Morris of Lansing, NC; three sisters, Sylvia "Slick" Tidwell of Graham, NC, Retha Norman of Williamston,NC, Loraine Morris of Burlington, NC; twelve grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents,William and Eunice Morris; one brother, Clyde Morris.
Family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home.
