Selma Gray (Whitehurst) Best

Selma Gray Whitehurst Best, 76, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, July 12, 2012 at Harborview Health Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Erskin officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mrs. Selma was a Certified Nursing Assistant on the surgical floor at Carteret General Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of The Sanctuary Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Newport.
She is survived by her daughter, Monica Lynn Best of Newport; two sons, Robert "Larry" Best, Jr. and Kenneth Allen Best, Sr. both of Newport; four grandchildren, Kenneth Allen Best, Jr., Ashley Nicole Best, Kaylee Alexa Greigh Creech, and Mason Fischer Creech; four sisters, Myrtle Holland of Belvoir, Pat Pierce of Charlotte, Alma Webb of Lawrenceville, GA, and Connie McGrath of Greenville; and brother, Bobby Whitehurst of Greenville.
She was preceded in parents, Eddie and Alice Cherry Whitehurst, sister, Dorothy Whitehurst, two brothers, Ed Whitehurst and James "Buddy" Whitehurst.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
