Scott Glen Grady, 58, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Glad Tidings Church with Rev. Tim Marriner, Rev. Shad Barrow, and Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery with military honors.

Scott served as the Lighthouse Keeper at Cape Lookout while in the U.S. Coast Guard for four and a half years, and he retired from civil service at Cherry Point after 33 years of service. After his military and civil service career, he started Knuckleheadz Kustomz in Morehead City for custom motorcycles, and High Street Metal Works. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church and he served on the facility and public safety team,the Sons of God Motorcycle Ministries, and the Prison Ministries. He was a volunteer at West Carteret High School for any home game cooking hamburgers and hot dogs at their concession stand. He was active in the Eastern Surfing Association, the Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation, and the Promise Land Heritage Society. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and he was well known as the unofficial Mayor of Shack.

He is survived by his wife, Taffie Grady of the home; daughter, Millie Grady Beadle and husband Blake of Morehead City; son, Luke Grady of Wilmington; brothers, Steven Widder, Craig Widder, Rick Widder, Kevin Kwick, Jody Kwick, Kent Kwick, and Jeff Kwick all of Antigo, WI; sisters, Judy Price and Jan Widder both of Antigo, WI; and two grandchildren, Aiden Beadle and Brenna Beadle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Corinne Wienke Grady.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2016 at Glad Tidings Church.
