Sarah "Sally" Trollinger Wheeler, 90, of Morehead City, formerly of New Bern, died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Harborview Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Sims officiating.
Sally was born in Norfolk, VA to Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Trollinger, Mrs. Wheeler was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She grew up in Atlanta, GA, where she met her husband, John K. Wheeler. After marriage, they moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and later moved to Raleigh, NC. Following John's retirement from IBM, they moved to New Bern, NC, where Sally worked as a real estate broker in Fairfield Harbour. They relocated to Greenville, NC before settling in Morehead City, NC.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her sons, Walter R. Wheeler of Apex, NC and John J. Wheeler of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Bonita Medlin and husband Aaron and their children, Joe and Hunter Medlin, Tracey Wheeler-Mense and husband David and their children, Alex and Zack Mense, Stephanie Taylor and husband Michael and their children, Michelle and Sarah Taylor, and John Michael Wheeler and wife Ashlee, and Meredith Wheeler.
She is survived by her 5 brother's and sister's families in the Atlanta, GA area.
The family will receive friends 1/2 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC, 27705.
