Sandra Alonso Johnson, 55, of Beaufort died Friday August 3, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sally White officiating. A private family burial will be held at Oscar Davis Cemetery.
Sandi grew up in Brentwood Long Island, NY and relocated to Beaufort in 2009 to be closer to family. She attended Unitarian Coastal Fellowship in Morehead City. Sandi had a deep love and appreciation for nature, animals, and cooking. She also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts.
She is survived by a sister Mayra Guthrie and husband Walter of Beaufort: a brother Enrigue Hernandez and wife Anne of Bloomington, MN: a sister-in-law Janet Hernandez of Wake Forest, NC: goddaughter and niece Jennifer Brewer and husband Michael, nieces Rebecca Hernandez, and Melissa Hernandez: two nephews Bryan Guthrie and Kristoffer Hernandez: many other extended family members: and her beloved cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents German and Belen Alonso, and brother David Hernandez.
