Sandra Hostetter Dean, 75, of Cedar Point, NC peacefully passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at her home.
A time to celebrate her life will be forthcoming.
Sandra was born and raised in Lexington, Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She met her future husband while on a blind date with someone else. The two married shortly after his graduation and they remained happily married for 51 years.
After raising a family, which included dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and turtles, in Danville, VA, where she was an active member of The Garden Club of Virginia, The Wednesday Club, a volunteer at her daughters’ schools and a member of First Presbyterian Church, she and Graham made their home at the beach.
A loving mother and grandmother, Sandra really enjoyed attending her grandsons’ sporting events and taking family vacations. In recent years, she took many trips with her husband and two daughters where lots of wonderful memories were made.
Sandra was an avid reader, crossword enthusiast, animal lover and ardent cook.
She is survived by her loving husband, Graham Dean; daughters, Shannon Dean Daly of Richmond, VA and Jenna Rebecca Dean of Cedar Point, NC; mother, Rebecca Hostetter of Lexington, VA; grandchildren, Thomas “T” Michael Daly IV and Graham Holden Daly; and their cat, Lucy Dean.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett J Hostetter.
