Samuel "Sammy" Lee Hughes, Jr.

Samuel "Sammy" Lee Hughes, Jr., 54, of Newport, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his residence.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehead.  Samuel was a member of the Morehead City Elks Club 1710.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Sally S. Hughes of the home; daughter, Tamatha Hope Johnson of Winterville, NC; mother, Mary Hughes of Newport; sister, Brenda Carol Thomas of Newport; niece, Rose Bowden of Newport.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lee Hughes and  brother, Greg Hughes.
