Samuel Dingess

December 9, 1967 — January 29, 2010

Samuel Edward Dingess went home to be with the Lord on January 29th, 2010 after a prolonged illness.

Samuel was born December 9th, 1967, in New Britain, CT, to Rev. Paul Edward Dingess and Florence Lewis Dingess of Newport, NC. He spent most of his adult years in the Washington, DC area.

Although Samuel rubbed shoulders with society's elite, his greatest joy and peace was found in his later years after he gave his heart to Christ. It was during these years that he spent his time in service to the Lord by ministering to others. Samuel had a contagious personality that touched many people. He would boldly and freely share his life's story with anyone he met. Those who had the privilege of meeting him say that their lives have been so greatly impacted by his story that they will never be the same.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Florence Lewis Dingess, three sisters, Paula Dingess of the home, Cynthia Dingess Ayeni of Fuquu Varina, and Crystal Dingess Kohl of Wilbur Bye the sea, FL; two nephews, Joshua Matteau and wife Rachel and Kevin Kohl and two nieces, Michelle Matteau Beckeridge and husband Eddie and Jenelle Howard.

He was preceded in death by his father. He had a dedicated friend in Steve Gardner, who walked with him through everything and very special friends whom he had a profound effect on.

A celebration of his life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, where he was a member at 7:00 pm Friday, February 5th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to All Saints Anglican Church, 292 McCabe Rd., Newport, NC, 28570.
