Ruth "Ruthie" Rawls

Ruth “Ruthie” Rawls, 87, of Smyrna, went home with Jesus on Friday, July 27, 2018, at her home.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Kenneth Vinston. Inurnment, at Bell Cemetery, will be at a later date.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Cole and husband, Steven, of Morehead City; brother, David Elmer and wife, Shirley, of Rome, NY; sisters-in-law, Mildred Nelson and husband, Rodney, of Morehead City, Ann Turner of Morehead City; granddaughter, Lydia Caravalho and husband, Joshua, of Smyrna; and many loving nieces and nephews from north to south.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Lee Rawls; parents, Earl and Anna Elmer; son, David Rawls; and sister, Dorothy Elmer.

Family will receive friends from  1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church.
