Ruth Hadder Hardison

Ruth Hadder Hardison, 85, of Gloucester, died Monday, June 6, 2011 at Taylor Extended Care Facility.

Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow at Straits United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardison was a bookkeeper and worked for the IRS in Greensboro, NC, JC Penny, Cherry Point, and the Brantley Morris Oil Company.

Mrs. Hardison is survived by two daughters, Donna Thompson and husband, Randy of Apex and Gloria West and husband, Jack of Atlantic; four grandchildren, Marie West Willis of Sea Level, Dr. Matthew Thompson of Greensboro, Paul Hardison of Key Largo, FL and Mary Simms of Sarasota, FL; six great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Hadder of Marshallberg; and sister, Mary Ellen Thomas of Beaufort.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Francis Hardison, Sr.; son, Charles Francis Hardison, Jr., and grandson, Jackie West, III.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
