Ruth Ann Michael

Ruth Ann Michael, 89, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House after a long illness.

Born on December 12, 1935, in Stockbridge, Michigan, Ruth was the daughter of the late Milton and Bessie Barber. 

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Ruth is survived by her children, Christopher Michael of Owings Mills, MD and Debra Harris of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Jason, Melanie, Tyler, and Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren, Nyla, Lillyann and Sterling.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Michael in 2008; sons, George “Patrick” Michael in 1992 and John W. Michael in 2011; and her sister, Arlene Barber in 1934. 

Ruth will be laid to rest privately in Waterloo, Michigan.
