Ruth Lee (Godwin) Gould

Ruth Lee Godwin Gould, 88, of Newport, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Cherry Point Bay Nursing Facility.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday at Newport Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Carroll officiating.
Mrs. Ruth was a member of Newport Baptist Church for 54 years, where she was active in WMU, the church's prayer chain, and was always serving in the nursery. She loved reading, going to yard sales, and travelling. Ruth always had a warm home and a table full of good food. We will never forget the memories we shared around that table. She loved much and was greatly loved.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years Lee Roy Gould: two daughters Frances Brown of Surfside Beach, SC, and Jeanette Miller of Laurinburg, NC: two sons Doug Gould and wife Anne of Harrington, Del, and Gerry Gould and wife Bonnie of Havelock, NC: seven grandchildren: and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Zeb and Sadie Cole Godwin, five brothers Durwood Godwin, Leslie Godwin, Henry Godwin, Leonard Godwin, and Vernice Godwin.
The family will receive friends following the service.
