Rupert E. Smith

Rupert E. Smith, 75, of Crab Point, died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his residence.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday in Munden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Mr. Smith was born and raised in Crab Point and a retired commercial fisherman. He was a member of Crab Point Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Venita B. Smith; daughter, Wendy Michelle Mann and husband, Allen of Newport; sons, Johnny D. Smith and wife, Kathy of Zebulon, and Geary Smith and wife, Cheryl; sister, Brenda Jones of Crab Point; brother, Henry Douglas Smith of Crab Point; seven grandchildren, Ricky Smith, D.J. Smith, Geary D. Smith, Hilan Johnson, Zek Mann, Jade Smith, and Cody Smith, and great-granddaughter, Brianna Smith.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
