Rudolph “Rudy” Lewis Jr., 71, of Beaufort, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Rev. Ray Conner officiating.
Rudy was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Navy for four years. He later retired from the US Postal Service in Jacksonville.
Rudy is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Lewis Smith of Fairmont, WV, Amy Lewis Duest and husband Kurt of Jacksonville, NC, and Cara Lewis Hampton and husband Alex of Newport, NC; sisters, Donna Sanders of Beaufort and Margie Lewis of Beaufort; nieces, Cynthia Dee Lewis and Kerry Dawn Lewis; grandchildren, William Lee Buck III, John Mart Buck, Nevaeh Grace Jean Lewis-Miller, Rebecca Jean Duest, Emily Marie Duest, Christopher Daniel Powell, and Cassadee Elizabeth Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Lewis; his parents, Rudolph and Bertie (Guthrie) Lewis Sr.; brother, Robert Lewis; and granddaughter, Hannah Jean Lewis.
The family will welcome friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
