Roy "Joe" Loren Lester

Roy "Joe" Loren Lester, Sr., 63, of Harkers Island, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at home.
Joe was good natured and loved by all in the community: always ready to help anyone.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at the Lighthouse Chapel in Harkers Island with Rev. Ricky Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie W. Lester of the home; son, Mark S. Lester of Atlantic; mother, Sarah Belva Yeomans of Otway; brother, Gary Lester of Otway; five grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Loren Lester, Jr., father, Kenneth Lester, and two sisters, Carolyn Day and Alice Shay.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
