Roy Dalton Russell, 76, of Newport, died Monday, March 23 2015, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at White Oak Church of God with Rev. Richard Franklin, Rev. Dewayne Dickerson, and Pastor Robbie Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Amariah Garner Cemetery.
Roy was a charter member of White Oak Church of God, and was employed for 41 years at Carteret Craven EMC.
He is survived by his wife Martha Russell of the home; sister Shelby Russell Grogan and husband Buddy of Sanford; brother Gregory Russell and wife Dana of Concord; grandchildren Asa Willis and wife Lydia, Brandon Jerome Russell, and Leslie McNeil Doolittle; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver Gina Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Rosalyn Russell, son Kevin Russell, daughter Tammy Russell McCarvill, and brother Louis Russell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
