Roxie Taylor

Roxie C. Taylor, 95, of Merrimon, NC, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, at her daughter's home in West Warwick, RI.
Born in Merrimon, she was the daughter of the late Hervey D. and Sadie Carraway. She was the wife of the late James Lannes Taylor, mother of James Lannes Taylor, Jr., and his wife Sylvia of Richmond, RI, Allen Russell Taylor and his wife, Priscilla of Severn, MD, Joseph Carl and his wife, Grace of Melrose, FL and Deborah Ann Piascik and her husband Stephen of West Warwick, RI.
She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great great grandchildren.
Roxie retired from the State of RI in 1974 where she was employed as a supervisor at the Girls Training School, to return home to Merrimon.
Her funeral will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 29th, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Bachelor. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service at the church from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. A reception will follow.
