Rosemarie Anne O'Connor, 84, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 20th at Annunciation Catholic Church, officiated by Father Jim Buchholz. 

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 24th at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, officated by Deacon Jim Strange.

For those unable to attend, the Mass and Graveside services can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Rosemarie was born on September 22, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Ernest and Theresa Streicher. A devout Catholic, Rosemarie was a cherished member of Annunciation Catholic Church for 45 years. Her faith guided her life, and she was known for her compassion and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Rosemarie dedicated two decades of her life to a fulfilling career in Civil Service, serving as a secretary for the Naval Aviation Department. Her commitment and hard work were evident throughout her tenure, and she positively impacted those around her. 

Rosemarie poured her heart into cooking and baking for her loved ones. Among her signature dishes, German Meatballs and festive authentic German Stollen at Christmas time were especially beloved by all.

Rosemarie embraced life with joy and humor, often being described as a delightful prankster who could light up any room with her laughter. Rosemarie's strength, independence, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed, by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Marie O’Connor of Havelock, NC; sons, David John O’Connor (Heather Lynn) of New Bern, NC and John Joseph O’Connor (Jonathan Mansfield O’Connor) of Morehead City, NC; sister, Johanna Theresa Raynes of Wild Rose, WI; brother, Richard Joseph Streicher of Germantown, WI; 6 grandchildren, Ryan MacPherson, Emily MacPherson, Sarah O’Connor, Erin O’Connor, Stryker O’Connor, and Taylor O’Connor; and 2 great-grandchildren, Roman MacPherson and Ava Byrd.

In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, William Edward O'Connor who passed away in 2012; and her brother, Ernest James Streicher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
