Ron was born on December 7, 1947, in Maysville, NC, to the late Leroy and Rachel Collins. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served with honor, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Ron had a fulfilling career with Carteret Craven Electric.
Sundays held a special significance for Ron, as he would begin his day attending church, followed by enjoying the thrill of NASCAR races in the afternoon. When the races weren’t on you can be sure he was watching a classic British mystery show. Ron was also known for his remarkable cooking skills, he always enjoyed making delicious meals for his family.
His loyal companion, his dog Pudden – named after the first time he and Vicki met – was a steadfast presence by his side.
A man of great kindness and generosity, Ron was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the spirit of selflessness. He shared a beautiful 25-year marriage with his loving wife, Vicki, and was a devoted husband and proud grandfather, whose kindness and love will be deeply missed.
