Ronald William Onoff

Ronald William Onoff, 74, of Beaufort, NC, and formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Morehead City, NC.

A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Jim Daub.

Ron was born in Miami, Florida on September 8, 1943 to John Phillip Onoff and Mary Marjorie Young.  He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1961 and attended North Carolina State before joining the Coast Guard as a Boatswain with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.

He retired from the United States Coast Guard after an extensive career that included duty stations at Fort Macon, NC, and Portsmouth, VA, and as well as a tour of duty in Vietnam.

He is survived by his father, John Phillip Onoff of Wilmington; daughters, Mendy Ault of Laurel, MD, and Molly Rogers and husband, Kenneth, of Blacksburg, VA; son, Thomas Onoff and wife, Jennifer, of Newport News, VA; step daughters, Natalie Badillo and husband, Luis, of Morehead City and Darlene Breining-Senseney and husband, Chris, of Westminster, MD; sister, Phyllis Adams of Wilmington; brother, John H. Onoff and wife, Geraldine, of Wilmington; half-sisters, Michelle Onoff and husband, Victor, of Beaufort, SC, Melissa Onoff of Miami, FL; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and an extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Marjorie Young and wife, Celestine Lonick Onoff.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
