Ronald T. Davis, 79, of Harkers Island, died Thursday September 13, 2012, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Harkers Island, with the Bishop Kevin Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
Ronald was in the last graduating class of 1951 at Harkers Island School, he then joined the Coast Guard.He was employed at James Gillikin Boatworks in Harkers Island, and later retired from Cherry Point in 1994. He was a member of Harkers Island Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as an Elder. He was a good steward and always enjoyed helping others anyway he could.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years June Hancock Davis: a son Anthony Davis and wife Cindy of Harkers Island: a daughter Margo Fulford and husband John of Harkers Island: and one granddaughter Margaret Fulford.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tilton and Marie Davis.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
