Ronald Cary Davis of Easton, Maryland passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in Beaufort, NC. at the age of 71. Ron was born in Kannapolis, NC. on December 22, 1942, the son of Nell Pauline (Polly) and Bert Cary Davis. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC. and East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Ron entered the FBI in 1970 and first served as a Special Agent in Springfield, IL,; however, spent the majority of his career in Baltimore, MD. He also served briefly at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Ron retired in 2000 but continued with the FBI as a private contractor. Loyal and generous to a fault, Ron deeply loved his family and friends. An avid sports fan, he was a talented basketball player and played as a forward for both his high school and college teams. Ron was a Virginia Beach lifeguard during his college years at the 22nd Street stand. He also loved animals and was a member of the ASPCA Founder’s Society. Ron is survived by his partner Fran Pigott Harding of Beaufort, NC., former wife Bonnie Cryer of Leesburg, VA, daughter Treva Stack, son-in-law David and grandson Davis of Baltimore, MD, daughter Kristin Ricasa, granddaughters Mariah and Chloe, and grandson Joseph of New Market, MD. Also, sisters Candy Davis Brooks, Nancy Davis Cook, Melinda Davis Hughes and numerous nieces and nephews in Kannapolis, NC.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 beginning at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org) or the Children’s Cancer Foundation (www.childrenscancerfoundation.org) causes that Ron generously supported.
