Ronald Anthony Davis, 68, of Harkers Island, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service to honor Anthony’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 1, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Harkers Island, officiated by Bishop James Morris. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Anthony was born on November 22, 1955, in Morehead City, NC, to Ronald Tilton Davis and June Hancock Davis. He loved growing up on Harkers Island and took great pride in being a part of the close-knit community. Anthony’s warm smile and friendly nature brought joy to those around him and endeared him to all.

As a skilled mechanic, Anthony had a dedicated career in Civil Service as an Aircraft Mechanic. Anthony's commitment to his work was evident in his high standards and unwavering attention to detail.

A man deeply committed to his country and community, Ronald held strong political beliefs, never shying away from voicing his opinions and standing up for his beliefs. He was a fierce advocate for his democratic values, always staying informed and engaging in meaningful discussions with others.

Anthony was a man who embraced all that life had to offer. Quiet by nature, he enjoyed the simple things of life. He loved sports and happily cheered on his Carolina teams. Trips with his friends to Martinsville, Virginia, for NASCAR races always guaranteed a fun time. Anthony loved to travel and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains, exploring new places and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Cindy J. Davis; mother, June Davis of Harkers Island; sister, Margo Fulford and husband John of Harkers Island; niece, Margaret Fulford Gaskill and husband Brent of Harkers Island; stepchildren, Heather Roegner and husband Rob, and Jeremy Stollard; and step-grandchildren, Kendall Gillespy and Kamdyn Gillespy.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Tilton Davis; paternal grandparents, Tilton and Marie Davis; and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Margarette Hancock.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the ECU Kidney Transplant Program, P.O. Box 8489, Greenville, NC 27835.

As an organ donor, Anthony was able to share his life with someone in need. It was his wish to encourage others to become an organ donor, giving a second chance at life for others.
