Roma Gertrude (Piner) Smith

Roma Piner Smith, 96, of Atlantic, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Pruitt Health at Sea Level.
A funeral will be held 2:00 Monday at Atlantic United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Harris and Rev. George Gouge officiating.
Roma was born and grew up in Williston, attended and graduated from Smyrna High School. After marrying William B. Smith she moved to Atlantic. Her hobbies were traveling, playing bridge, gardening, and needlework. She loved music and sang in the choir for over 60 years. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter Karen Hansen and husband Larry; son Stephen Smith and wife Patricia; daughter in-law Peggy Smith and fiance Steve Hardy; sister in-law Mildred Piner; grandchildren Kevin Hansen and wife Jennifer, Christopher Hansen and wife Laura, John Hansen and wife Kristina, Ginny Willis and husband Marty, and Daniel Smith; step granddaughter Courtney Willis; great grandchildren Eva, Kevin, Smith, Polly, Eric, Will Hansen, Mandi, and Bryson Willis, and Drake Smith; and step grandsons Jacob Scott, and Dee Willis.
She was preceded in death by her husband William B. Smith, son William F. Smith, granddaughter Patricia A. Smith, and brother Kenneth Piner.
Visitation will be at Atlantic United Methodist Church from 7:00-8:30 pm Sunday.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to Atlantic United Methodist Church at 511 School Dr. Atlantic, NC 28511.
