Roland Styron, Jr., 90, of Davis, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the residence of the deceased.
Services will be held 12:00 pm Friday at Davis First Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Renfrow and Rev. Tom Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow at Stacy Community Cemetery.
Mr. Styron was a deacon and fomer Sunday School Superintendant of Davis First Baptisit Church. He retired from civil service at Cherry Point, and served in the United States Navy during WW II. In his ealier years he was a guide for duck hunters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther Gibbs Styron of Davis; daughter Catherine "Jane" Mason of Wallace, NC; two sons, Linwood Styron of Rocky Point, NC, and Arnold Styron of Kinston, NC; brother Hilton Styron of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Micah Styron.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
