Rogers "Ross" Cannon

Rogers “Ross” Alexander Cannon, 96, of Newport, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Doctor Robert Langley officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park with masonic rites.

He was the co-owner and operator of Cannon Boat Works. He was the oldest Master Mason of Ocean Masonic Lodge #405 in Morehead City.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Cannon Bedsworth and husband George Albert Bedsworth of Winston Salem and Jo Ann Cannon Neith and husband William Neith of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Amy Neith Dailing, Eric Neith, and Brian Bedsworth; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret “Peggy” Durkin Cannon, his second wife, Juanita Silverman Cannon, and his parents, Asa and Lila Cannon and his brother Larry Cannon.

The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to his service.
