Roger Lee Poling

Roger Lee Poling, 74, of Newport, passed away Thursday May 19, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Monday, May 23, 2016 at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. Sally White officiating.
Roger served his country in the US Marine Corps for 30 years. He attended the Unitarian Church of Morehead City and he was also a member of the Moose Lodge of Newport, where he was awarded the honorary degree of Fellow, within the Moose Legion.
He is survived by his wife Rita Poling of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Odham and husband Andrew of Newport, NC and Julia Young and husband Blaine of Weatherford, TX; sons Richard Poling and wife Brennan of Lenoir City, TN and James “Sam” and wife Monica of Newport, NC; sister Susan Salmons and husband George of Clairmont, FL; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Webster Ellsworth and Anna Belle Wyskiver Poling.
