Roger Conner

June 1, 1944 — December 28, 2009




Roger Allen Conner, 65, of Beaufort died Monday at home in the loving arms of his family.

Mr. Conner was the owner and operator of Osprey Marine Construction and he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam Conflict.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the North River United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Durner officiating.Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rita Murdoch Conner of Beaufort; son, Roger Allen Conner, Jr. of Greenville; mother, Mary Tinnin Conner of Morehead City; sister, Mary J. Conner, adopted daughter of Cotten and Mary T. Conner, of Morehead City; mother-in-law, Mayola Murdoch of Beaufort; brother-in-law, Bobby Murdoch and wife Vicky of Cary; sisters-in-law,Florence Mann and husband Joe of Newport and Pat Brown and husband Julian of Gloucester; nieces,Robin Hauser and husband Greg and their daughter Anna Merritt of Wilson, Anderson Griffin of Rocky Mount, and Lynn Van Dyke of New Bern; nephews, Keith Taylor and wife Lee and their daughter Colleen, William Murdoch of Apex, and Robert Van Dyke of
Morehead City.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Harmony Leigh Conner; father, Allen S. "Cotten" Conner, Sr.; brothers Richard Conner and Allen S. Conner, III.

The family will receive friends 7:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
