Rodney "Butch" Dring

Butch Dring, 79, of Newport, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 7­, 2020, at Carteret Health Care.

Butch was behind the design and management of 6 Safari Parks world-wide. He was larger than life and was a proud Englishman. Butch was a beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather, who was loved and will be missed by family, friends and pets.

Butch is survived by his wife, Lynda Dring of Newport, NC; daughter, Michelle Cogar of Beaufort, NC; and son Richard Dring of Jackson, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dring and grandson, Todd Cogar.
