Roderick Ardell Hill

Roderick Ardell Hill, 85, of Atlantic, died Wednesday March 6, 2013, at home with family.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 Sunday at Atlantic United Methodist Church with Rev. George Gouge and Rev. Eddy Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.
Roderick was a member of the Atlantic United Methodist Church, he served in the merchant marines during WWII, and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Along with his father and brother he co owned and operated Winston Hill and Son Store.
He is survived by his wife Lura Hill of the home: three daughters Joy Whichard and husband Adrian of Morehead City, Barbara Jernigan and husband Joe of Morehead City, and Esther Hill and husband Pat Schlesinger of California: two sons Eric Hill and wife Barbara of Atlantic, and Rev. Eddy Hill and wife Nita of Holdens Beach: a brother Winston Hill of Atlantic: thirteen grandchildren: and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Winston and Daphne Hill, brother Neil Hill, and infant brother Edgar David Hill.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
