Robert "Mousey" or "Candy Man" Rice, Sr.

Robert Rice, Sr. "Mousey" and "Candy Man", 86, of Newport, died Tuesday November 4, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.
A funeral will be held 2:00 Friday at Reece's Chapel with Rev. Winkie Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Hyacinth Rice of the home: a son R.L. Rice,Jr., and wife Kay of Newport: five grandchildren Melissa R. Brameyer and husband Jan of Newport, Robert L. Rice, III, "Lee" and wife Ann of Newport, Franklin A. Rice of Newport, Chris Rice of Morehead City, and Daniel F. Rice, II of Newport: nine great grandchildren Abbigail Hauser of Newport, Eryn Delange of Newport, Ian Brameyer of Newport, Amanda Lee Rice of Newport, Robert Lee Rice, IV of Newport, Vicky Rice of Newport, Neal Rice of Newport, Ally Rice of Newport, and Brittany Rice of Newport: one great great granchild Ayden Hauser of Newport: a sister Mary Ellen Rice of Morehead City: a brother Gregory Rice of Morehead City: and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bonnie McCoy and Sarah Rice, a son Daniel F. Rice, Sr., two sisters Brunette Sharpe, and Marie McElmon, and one brother Roy Rice, Sr.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at the Church.
