Robert “Bob” Wayne Wolfe, 80, of Havelock, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at his home.
His graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 15th, at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Bob was born on September 18, 1942, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the late Luther and Gertrude Wolfe. He was born with a strong sense of duty and patriotism. Bob felt a calling to serve and protect our freedoms. He served not only in the US Army, but also enlisted in the US Navy. Bob willingly embraced the challenges of a dual military career, exemplifying a remarkable dedication that inspired all who served alongside him.
Bob received numerous medals during his exceptional military service, serving in the Vietnam era. He was honored with the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, GCM 1st Award- September 14, 1973. Beyond his exceptional career, he worked in Civil Service as Security on Cherry Point Base. Bob was actively involved in the local chapter of the VFW. He was a beloved family member and a cherished friend. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and devotion to his loved ones.
Bob leaves behind his loving family, daughters, Jaqueline Felix of the Phillipines, Katherine Louise Wolfe of Havelock, Mona Lisa Wolfe of Oakland, California, Ann Marie Wolfe of Gadsden, Alabama; son, Norman Wayne Wolfe (Gina) of Gadsden, Alabama; grandchildren, Yesenia, Joey, Abigail, Willis Jr., Kalealani, Destiny, Elizabeth, Taylor, Trinity, Noah, Krystianna, Landon, Kayden, Kayleigh, Zane, Charlene, Sherwin, Christopher, and Josiah; great- grandchildren, Analeah, Mozzy, Cesar, and Alohilani.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Laigo Wolfe; sister, Wanda Gilbreath; brothers, Edward Wolfe, Jack Wolfe, and Roy Wolfe.
