Robert "Bob" Lee Underhill, 76, of Cedar Point, North Carolina, passed away on November 6, 2022, from complications of stroke/dementia.
His memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7th, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. The visitation will be one hour prior.
Bob was born in Arlington, Virginia, on September 21, 1946, to the late William Sr. and Helen Underhill. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Bill, and his nephew Austin. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah Underhill; daughter, Heather Underhill; son, Robert Underhill Jr. and wife Wendy; grandchildren, Amelia, Ian, and Lilliana Underhill; brother, Gary Underhill and wife Michelle; sisters-in-law, Karlie Underhill and Jeannine Janoschka; and beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends
He proudly served in the United States Army and later graduated from Campbell University. In 1975, he began his career with the United States Secret Service as a Special Agent. After retiring from the Secret Service, he joined the Henrico Sheriff's Department as Supervisor for their Internal Affairs Division.
Bob and Debbie relocated to Cedar Point to enjoy retirement. He came out of retirement and was hired as Director for the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC, and Lenoir Community College in Kinston, NC.
Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking them boating and fishing, riding his motorcycle, and watching Duke Basketball.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
