Robert "Bob" Joseph Ruggiero

Robert "Bob" Joseph Ruggiero, 87, of Pine Knoll Shores, died Thursday November 1, 2012, at Carteret General Hospital.
The family will conduct a memorial service 12:00 Wednesday at St. Egbert's Catholic Church.
Bob was a US Army veteran, and served in the Phillipines during WWII. He earned his BS degree from Weidner University in Pennslyvania and later his masters degree in engineering from the University of Maryland. He worked in the broadcasting industry for CBS in NY for 27 years and for PBS Affiliate WETA in Washington DC for 15 years. He was a member of St. Egbert's church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia "Pat" Ruggiero: four children Carol Triest and husband Randy of Sinking Spring, PA, Lynne Shawkey and husband David of Chantilly, VA, Patricia Ruggiero of Raleigh, and Jeanne Riggs and husband Michael of Nashville, TN: four grandchildren Justin Shawkey, Mitchell Shawkey, Tyler Riggs, and Lauren Riggs: a brother Joseph Ruggiero of Long Island, NY: two sisters Dorothy Rodriguez of Chicago, IL, and Doris Stinga and husband Anthony of Bronx.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Ruggiero, a brother Edward Ruggiero, and a sister Nydia Hornamann.
In lieu of flowers memorial dontations may be made to the Domestic Violence Services PO Box 2279 Morehead City, NC 28557.
