Robert "Bob" Neil Kelley

Robert “Bob” Neil Kelley, 83, of Newport, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Carteret Health Care and is now with his beloved wife and loved ones.

His graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Brownie Woolard.

Bob was born on January 19, 1935 to his parents, Captain Gardner M. Kelley, Sr. and Vera A. Kelley in Milbridge, Maine. He moved to Carteret County in the mid 1960’s, where he started the business Atlantic Auto Parts. He operated the business for nearly 40 years with his wife, Bonnie, and his children. He also started other businesses, B&B Small Engines, Kelley 7 Motor Sports, and Newport Scrap Metal where he retired.

He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Styron of Newport; sons, Danny Kelley of Morehead City, Jimmy “Big Jim” Kelley of Newport; sister, Janet Beckwith Smith of Florida; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Gardner and Very Kelley; wife, Bonnie D. Kelley; daughter, Kathryn Lynn Kelley; and brother, Gardner M. Kelley, Jr.
