Robert "Bob" Edward Campbell

Robert Edward Campbell (Bob) 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 24. 2013.

Bob was born in Boston Massachusetts  on July 31, 1953  He was  one of six children of a Marine Corps family whose  parents settled down  in the great town of Newport, North Carolina where Bob grew up and graduated from West Carteret High School. Bob worked for many years for Fast Fare in Havelock, Morehead City, and Emerald Isle stores. He also worked for a convalescent transport company. Bob was a servant. He was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with both the Newport and Wildwood Fire Departments until his retirement. He was a member of the Newport Moose Lodge The word stranger never was part of his dictionary. He would talk and joke with anyone and he had the most loving heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents William F. “Soupy” Campbell, Jr and Geraldine “Gerry” Campbell of Newport.  He leaves behind four brothers, William F. Campbell, III and his wife Debbie of Plano Texas, Michael J. Campbell and his wife Cathy of Morehead City;  Joseph A.  Campbell and his wife Cathy of Newport;  and Paul S. Campbell and his wife Jody of Morehead City, and one sister,  Geraldine M. “Gerri” Campbell of Morehead City.  He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who he loved with all his heart.

The viewing  will take place on Wednesday at 3:00-5:00pm Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City NC.
