Robert Powell, 83, of Newport, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Carroll officiating with Rev. Jack Bowen assisting. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by four daughters, Lois Marie Usina of Sanford, Betty Jean Mullins, Doris Ann Russell and Karen McGregor all three of Newport; son, James Robert Powell of Newport; two sisters, Eloise Warren of Sampson County and Esther Ellen Thorton of Fuquay Varina; brother, Joseph Powell of Sampson County; also five grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Powell.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
