Robert Earl Noles "Pop"

Robert Earl Noles “Pop”, of Morehead City, NC passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 87, with his children by his side. 

Robert’s memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.  For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Robert was born on April 9, 1937, in Benson, NC, to the late Ira D. Noles and Elsie Tew Noles. At an early age he worked in the fields with his parents and as a teen found his passion for woodworking while working for the local handyman. He worked in Benson for several years before moving his family to Raleigh to work with a cabinet builder. He worked hard and learned business before starting Noles Cabinets, Inc. in 1974. The family wants to thank the Roebuck Homes’ family for their friendship since the beginning and on until today. 

After turning the family business over to his son, he and his wife retired to Morehead City, NC. Robert enjoyed the new friendships he created and rekindling ones that he had in the Raleigh area as they also moved to the area to retire. He loved to fish and hang out with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Deborah Elaine Noles of Raleigh; son, Robert Douglas Noles (Jennifer) of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Joyce N. Waller of New Bern; brother, Owen R. Noles (Cathy) of Newport; sister, Dona Stanley of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Tiffany A. Tatum (Addison), Trevor J. Noles (Sylvia), Wesley G. Noles; great grandchildren, Jacqueline K. Tatum, Bowen B. Noles; brother-in-law, Jimmy G. Woodall; and nephew, Turi Noles. 

Robert was preceded in death by his late wife and love of his life, Mary Jacqueline Woodall Noles.

The family would like to thank Liberty Hospice for their care and support.
